DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ROME

Welcome to Rome! Arrive in Rome and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight in Rome.

DAY 2: ROME

Eat breakfast at the hotel and depart for a morning tour (pick up at 7:45 a.m.) with visits to the famed Trevi Fountain (don’t forget to throw in a coin!); the Greco-Roman Pantheon, (except on Monday); Piazza Navona, where Romans came to watch the ancient “games”; and St. Peter’s Basilica, the symbolic “mother church” of the Roman Catholic Church, with seating for 60,000 worshippers!

You’ll have the afternoon at leisure to explore further, taste the local cuisine, or go shopping before heading back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 3: ROME-NAPLES-POMPEII-AMALFI

After breakfast at hotel, we depart by deluxe motor coach at 6:45 a.m. for Naples and a brief panoramic tour of the city, known for its excellent art, architecture, and music. We continue on to Pompeii for lunch and a visit to the ruins of this Roman town destroyed by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 A.D. After lunch in a typical restaurant, we’ll head to Amalfi for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 4: AMALFI

Following breakfast at the hotel, you’ll have plenty of free time to discover the beauty of this wonderful coastal town. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs, Amalfi was once a popular tourist destination for the British aristocracy but today welcomes visitors from a wealth of different backgrounds. Located in the Campania Region, Amalfi is surrounded by rugged, dramatic cliffs and some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in Italy. We’ll have dinner here and enjoy another overnight stay in this beautiful town.

DAY 5: AMALFI-CAPRI

After breakfast at the hotel, take time to explore Amalfi at your own pace, perhaps visiting beautiful St. Andrew’s Cathedral or stopping for a taste of Limoncello, made from Amalfi’s unique “sfusato amalfitano” lemons. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Amalfi is also famous for its production and export of high-quality “bambagina” paper, used the world over for things like wedding invitations. At approximately 11:30 a.m., we’ll transfer to Sorrento and then head to Capri for an overnight stay.

DAY 6: CAPRI

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and free time to explore the beautiful and sunny island of Capri, often nicknamed “The Garden of Eden”. Capri has been a popular resort town since the early days of the Roman Republic. Today, it may be possible to make a visit to Anacapri – situated on the slopes of Monte Solario, The Port of Marina, the rocks of I Faraglioni, or the famous Villa Jovis, an opulent residence built for the emperor Tiberius. Stay overnight in Capri.

DAY 7: CAPRI-ROME

After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll have the morning at leisure to catch up on shopping or enjoy more sightseeing in pretty Capri, where you can explore some of the most magnificent villas in Italy, both ancient and modern. In the early afternoon, we depart for Rome and an overnight stay.

DAY 8: ROME

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight home. End of services.
