Day 1:  Roma

Welcome to Italy!

Get ready to embark on an unforgettable experience.
After settling into your Rome hotel, take advantage of a day at leisure, rest up as you prepare to embark on your Italian vacation and adventure!

 

Day 2:  Roma, Assisi, Siena, Firenze (Florence)

Welcome to the Classic Italy tour!

Early departure from Roma via deluxe motor coach to Assisi.
Today, you will meet your tour guide and get to know your fellow guests.
Arrive in Assisi, in Italy’s Umbrian region, and enjoy some leisure time in this tiny town surrounded by ancient walls and graced by grand castles and historic ancient churches.
A visit of the Basilica of St. Francis, a World Heritage Site, will provide visitors with a chance to view the frescoes of Giotto and Cimabue as well as many other beautiful works of art.
Departure from Assisi to Siena.
Siena is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Tuscan hill town includes magnificent cathedrals, pretty botanical gardens, Gothic palazzi, and the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, the town square and favored gathering place, home to the Palio horse race, an excellent art museum, and plenty of opportunity for people-watching.
Departure from Siena to our evening destination, magnificent Firenze.

Firenze: Check in at your hotel. Enjoy a leisurely dinner and comfortable overnight accommodations.

Day 3:  Firenze (Florence)

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then depart for a day of Florence sightseeing.
Truly the center of Italian art, this breathtaking Etruscan city will be the highlight of the trip for culture lovers.
Florence flourished in the Middle Ages as a free commune and became the center for art and architecture during the Renaissance.
The largest city in Tuscany, it is known for its domed cathedral, the 13th century Santa Maria del Fiore (known as Il Duomo).
A visit to this astounding site is included on the tour. This structure is a masterpiece inside and out, having as its centerpiece the magnificent dome built by Filippo Brunelleschi.
We will then proceed to the nearby Campanile Tower (partially designed by Giotto) and the Baptistery with its golden bronze doors, dubbed the Gates of Paradise by Michelangelo himself.
In the heart of this UNESCO World Heritage city, guests can view the Piazza della Signoria, the Santa Croce Basilica, and walk the paths that once led to the homes of the city’s most famous residents, including da Vinci, Machiavelli, Raffaelo, Donatello, the Medici Family, and even modern well-known artists such as Gucci and Ferragamo. 
Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure or take part in the optional Pisa tour.

PISA: (Optional):   Most famous for its Leaning Tower, the power of this city as a mighty maritime nation reached its apex in the 11th century, when it acquired fame as one of the four main historical Marine Republics of Italy.
We will take time to admire the area known as the Square of Miracles, which includes the Duomo, the Leaning Tower, the monumental cemetery, and the opulent Baptistery of the Cathedral.

Enjoy dinner with your tour companions and overnight accommodations in a Florence hotel.

DAY 4:  Firenze, Bologna, Padua, Venezia

After breakfast you will depart Firenze by a deluxe coach and head to Bologna situated between the Po River and the Apennines.
The city of Bologna is home to the oldest university in the Western world (established in 1088) and is known throughout Italy for the excellent quality of life it provides its residents.
The landscape of this city, one of the most developed in Italy, is enriched by elegant and extensive arcades (or porticos), an architectural element for which the city is famous.
Have your camera ready as we explore Neptune Square and its beautiful fountain, and nearby Major Square, both located in the heart of the city.
Home to companies such as Lamborghini and Masserati, Bologna is a pedestrian-friendly city where guests can feel free to explore on foot.
Here, you’ll be fascinated by the opulent King Renzo Palace, the Podesta’s Palace, and the Basilica of San Petronio, one of the largest basilicas in the world. Departure from Bologna to Padova.
Padova: Our stop in Padova includes a visit to the beautiful Sant Antonio Basilica in the heart of the city. Departure from Padova to our next destination, Venezia.
Venezia: In the evening when the city sparkles, arrive in spectacular Venice, often described as one of the most romantic cities in the world, famous for its gondola-traveled canals and magnificent architectural sites.
Enjoy dinner in this magical city and a good night’s sleep before a day of sightseeing.

Day 5:  Venezia

Breakfast at the hotel and then depart by water bus for Piazza St. Marco. Today, you will externally visit the Palazzo Doge. Built during the 14th and 15th centuries, this was the long-time residence of Venice’s Dukes and the center for the Court of Justice. It can be reached by crossing the famous Bridge of Sighs, so named because it provided prisoners with their last breathtaking view of the city before they were incarcerated. At the end of the tour, the group will have the opportunity to explore one of the famous Murano glass factories.
Spend the evening at leisure, including dinner and an overnight stay in a Venice hotel.

Day 6:  Venezia, Montepulciano, Roma

After breakfast depart by motor coach from Piazzale Roma to the famous Montepulciano in Tuscany.
Montepulciano: Known for its pork, cheese, pasta, honey, and famous wine, Vino Nobile, this attractive ancient city is situated in Southern Tuscany. A medieval and Renaissance hill town, it’s a great place to enjoy a little wine tasting. A pedestrian-friendly, car-free town, Montepulciano also boasts several handsome churches and a small palazzo designed by Michelozzo. Departure from Montepulciano to our last destination.

Roma: Evening arrival and overnight stay in Roma.

Day 7: Roma

After breakfast depart for a fun and educational walking tour of this famous city.
From great works of art and architecture to romantic sights to public places where you can experience the friendliness of the Roman people.
You will enjoy such attractions as Piazza di Spagna, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Piazza Navona and San Pietro Basilica in Vatican City.
After the tour, you will have the afternoon at your leisure to rest or explore further.
Don’t forget to grab some gelato before retiring to your hotel for an overnight stay!

Day 8: Roma, Napoli, Pompei, Sorrento

Breakfast at the hotel and depart from Roma to Napoli.
Napoli: You will drive by coach along the Strada Del Sole motorway, driving through the regions of Lazio and Campania, providing views of the Abbey of Montecassino.
Upon arrival in Napoli, you will embark on a short panoramic city tour which will include: Margellina, Plebiscito Square, the Royal Palace, the Maschio Angioino, and the port.
We’ll stop for a pleasant lunch in a local restaurant before departing for Pompei.

Pompei:  Visit the excavations of this famous Roman City, destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
After the tour, we will depart and drive along the Sorrentine Coast on our way to the town of Sorrento.

Sorrento: Arrival at the hotel, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9:  Sorrento, Isola di Capri, Roma

Eat breakfast at the hotel and depart to the port, where we board a boat for the Isola di Capri.
Isola di Capri: In Capri, weather and sea conditions permitting, we will visit the magical Blue Grotto .
Afterwards, enjoy a tasty lunch at a local eatery and time at your leisure to explore this picturesque island.
In the afternoon, you will depart back to Roma.
Roma: Arrival at the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 10: Roma

Breakfast at the hotel and end of services.
